Oh, this is an anxiety I know all too well. The new project of my own, I haven't done anything with since I started. I do have the next chapter in my head (a long one) but knuckling down and doing it is a different matter. I'm sorry to say, but my actual job gets very much in the way of this. Its rare that I am in the mood to write, and when I am, when I'm struck by that urge, its often at a time when I am hours away from my computer and so cant actually get it done.

What ties in with the improvising for my latest project is that unlike all my previous work, where I stick rigidly with one character, I'm jumping between vastly different groups. So its almost like I'm writingh several stories in one. I'm hoping this will keep it fresh enough to not become laborious, but then again, as you say, it can be daunting to generate new material from scratch, and not know where its going.

Solutions? I have none right now. I know - helpful.
